Chief Risk Officer (Crypto Trading & Asset Management)

Location: Dubai, UAE

We are collaborating with a crypto trading firm spanning an Asset Manager, multi‑strategy Hedge Fund, and proprietary trading business is seeking a Chief Risk Officer (CRO) to lead firm‑wide risk frameworks, governance, and real‑time oversight across all trading and investment activities.

Role & Responsibilities:

• Own and evolve enterprise‑wide risk frameworks across asset management, hedge fund strategies, and prop trading.
• Oversee market, liquidity, counterparty, operational, and venue‑specific risks across CEX and DEX markets.
• Implement real‑time monitoring, limits, alerts, and escalation protocols for HFT, MFT, and systematic portfolios.
• Lead capital allocation guidance, exposure management, stress testing, and scenario analytics for all desks taking over management of existing risk / middle office team.
• Partner with engineering to develop risk systems, dashboards, and automated monitoring tools.
• Chair the risk committee and deliver clear reporting to Executive Leadership and the Board.

Requirements:

• 10+ years in firm‑wide risk at a hedge fund, trading firm, multi‑strategy platform, or electronic trading environment.
• Deep understanding of crypto market structure (CEX/DEX, liquidity fragmentation, funding/basis, MEV, custody, operational flows).
• Advanced quantitative background (MS/PhD preferred) with expertise in risk modeling and portfolio analytics.
• Experience supporting HFT and MFT strategies, including microstructure and intraday risk dynamics.
• Strong ability to work with engineering on risk engines, data quality pipelines, and real‑time monitoring.
• Proven leadership with ability to influence PMs, traders, executives, and governance committees.
