Job Summary

The COO will be a strategic leader and hands-on operator, responsible for overseeing all daily operations and ensuring that our projects are executed efficiently, profitably, and safely. This role requires someone who thrives on accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement — a detailed-oriented leader who can balance people, process, and performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all field and office operations, ensuring alignment with company goals and client expectations.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop department heads (project management, estimating, safety, accounting, HR).
  • Implement operational systems, KPIs, and performance metrics to improve project execution and profitability.
  • Collaborate with the CEO on strategic planning, growth initiatives, and long-term business objectives.
  • Drive company culture focused on teamwork, communication, safety, and operational excellence.
  • Manage budgets, financial performance, and resource allocation across projects.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and contract obligations.
  • Foster relationships with key clients, subcontractors, and partners.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience as a Chief Operating Officer, preferably with a Construction company. COOs in a manufacturing or large system installations company will be considered provided they have a good grasp of construction processes and terminology.
  • Proven success leading teams and delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
  • Strong financial and analytical skills with a results-oriented mindset.
  • Good understanding of construction operations is preferred, project delivery, and process optimization.
  • Exceptional communication and leadership skills — able to inspire and motivate across all levels.
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, Business, or related field is preferred.

Work Environment

Primarily office-based with occasional site and client visits.
