An exciting opportunity exists for an accomplished Chief Financial Officer to join the executive leadership team of a large and established logistics operation in Papua New Guinea.

This is a senior strategic leadership role with responsibility for the financial performance, governance and commercial stewardship of a diverse logistics business.

Working closely with the Executive Leadership Team, the CFO will play a critical role in driving sustainable profitability, capital discipline, operational performance and long-term business growth.

We are seeking a commercially astute finance executive who can operate beyond the traditional finance function – providing meaningful insight, challenging the business constructively and partnering with operational leaders to influence key commercial and investment decisions.

The Role Key responsibilities will include:

• Providing strategic financial leadership across the logistics business
• Leading all finance, accounting, reporting, budgeting, forecasting and control activities
• Acting as a trusted financial and commercial advisor to the Executive Leadership Team
• Driving financial performance, profitability, cost optimisation and operational efficiency
• Providing commercial analysis to support pricing, growth initiatives and service expansion
• Leading capital planning, investment evaluation and business case governance
• Partnering with operational leaders on major fleet, infrastructure and asset investment decisions
• Driving working capital optimisation, liquidity and cash flow discipline
• Ensuring strong financial governance, internal controls, statutory compliance and risk management
• Overseeing internal and external audit requirements
• Evaluating strategic opportunities including acquisitions, joint ventures and partnerships
• Developing meaningful financial dashboards, KPIs and management reporting to support decision-making
• Leading and developing a high-performing finance team
• Supporting finance transformation, ERP optimisation, automation and continuous improvement initiatives

To be successful in this position, you will ideally bring:

• A degree in Accounting, Commerce, Finance or a related discipline
• CPA, CA, CIMA or equivalent professional accounting qualification
• A minimum of 12 years' experience in senior financial leadership positions
• Demonstrated experience in financial management, commercial business partnering and investment governance
• Experience operating within a large, complex and/or multi-site organisation
• Strong capability across budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis and performance management
• Proven experience in capital management, cost control and business performance improvement
• Strong knowledge of financial governance, risk, audit and internal controls
• Excellent commercial judgement and the ability to influence senior operational and executive stakeholders
• Demonstrated leadership capability with experience developing high-performing finance teams
• Experience within logistics, transport, industrial or other operationally complex sectors would be highly regarded, as would exposure to ERP implementation, systems improvement and digital finance transformation.
