Job Description

Chemical engineers apply the principles of chemistry, biology, physics, and mathematics to solve problems involving the production or use of chemicals, food, drugs, fuel, and many other products. They design processes and equipment for large-scale manufacturing, plan and test production methods, and byproduct treatment and direct facility operations. Chemical engineers are at the forefront of evolving and developing new chemical processes that are sustainable, efficient, and minimize waste. They work in a variety of industries, including pharmaceuticals, energy, food and beverages, and materials manufacturing. These professionals can expect to work collaboratively with other engineers, scientists, and business professionals to improve production efficiency and product quality.


Responsibilities

  • Design and develop chemical manufacturing processes to enhance productivity and efficiency.
  • Oversee and evaluate the performance of chemical production methods regularly.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations in all aspects of work.
  • Conduct research to develop new and improved chemical manufacturing processes.
  • Collaborate with R&D to design experiments and scale-up processes in production.
  • Analyze production data to troubleshoot problems and optimize operations.
  • Manage project budgets and timelines, ensuring projects are delivered on time.
  • Write technical reports and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop Risk Assessment and Mitigation strategies for chemical processes.
  • Provide technical guidance and supervision to junior engineers and staff.
  • Consult with vendors and stakeholders to manage procurement of equipment.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals and objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field is required.
  • Proven experience with chemical process design and optimization techniques.
  • Strong understanding of safety standards and regulations in chemical manufacturing.
  • Proficiency in using chemical engineering software and simulation tools is essential.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to handle complex engineering challenges.
  • Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work under tight deadlines.
