Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Chef de Pass to join our vibrant Italian restaurant, known for its exceptional culinary offerings and high-energy kitchen atmosphere. As the Chef de Pass, you will play a crucial role in ensuring seamless communication and efficient coordination between the kitchen and the dining area. You will oversee the plating and presentation of dishes, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality and artistry. Responsibilities

  • Coordinate effectively between the kitchen staff and front-of-house team during service.
  • Ensure all dishes are plated according to restaurant and culinary standards.
  • Mentor and train junior kitchen staff on plating techniques and standards.
  • Communicate any special guest requests or dietary restrictions to the kitchen staff.
  • Inspect the quality and presentation of dishes before they leave the kitchen.
  • Work closely with the Head Chef to maintain kitchen efficiency during peak hours.
  • Monitor the timely and organized dispatch of food to ensure freshness and quality.
  • Facilitate quick problem-solving for any last-minute issues that arise during service.
  • Assist in inventory management and ensure sufficient kitchen supplies are maintained.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment adhering to hygiene standards.
  • Collaborate in menu tastings and development to ensure new dishes achieve high standards.
  • Uphold the restaurant's high standards for customer service and dining experience.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role within Italian cuisine.
  • Strong passion for cooking and creating exceptional Italian dishes.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to lead and train a team with clarity and professionalism.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, especially regarding dish presentation and taste.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively liaise between kitchen and front-of-house staff.
  • Formal culinary training or substantial experience in high-quality Italian kitchens.
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene practices.
