Job Description

A Chef de Pass for an Italian concept restaurant plays a crucial role in maintaining the culinary excellence and smooth operation of the kitchen. This position involves overseeing the final stages of food preparation and ensuring that each dish meets the restaurant's quality standards before it is served to guests. The Chef de Pass works closely with the head chef and kitchen staff to coordinate the cooking process and ensure timely service. Responsibilities

  • Oversee the final preparation and presentation of dishes in the kitchen.
  • Ensure each meal meets the restaurant's high-quality culinary standards.
  • Work closely with the head chef to coordinate kitchen activities efficiently.
  • Monitor cooking stations to ensure dishes are prepared on time for service.
  • Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to resolve any food preparation issues.
  • Check the appearance and quality of each plate before it leaves the kitchen.
  • Provide constructive feedback and training to kitchen staff as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations at all times.
  • Collaborate with the front-of-house staff to address any guest concerns promptly.
  • Assist in menu planning and development to enhance guest dining experience.
  • Keep up-to-date with culinary trends to continuously improve offerings.
  • Maintain inventory of kitchen supplies and order additional ingredients when necessary.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a similar role within a high-end Italian restaurant.
  • Deep knowledge and passion for Italian cuisine and cooking techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for team coordination.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure high standards of food presentation.
