We are recruiting a motivated and experienced Chassis Electrical Team Lead to join our engineering team supporting vehicle chassis electrical systems across UAE operations. The successful candidate will lead a small technical team, oversee design, testing and installation of chassis electrical architectures, ensure compliance with specifications and safety standards, and coordinate with engineering, production and commissioning teams to deliver reliable vehicle electrical systems on time and to budget.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Coordination
Lead, mentor and allocate work to a team of electrical technicians and engineers, fostering a collaborative and high‑performance culture.
Plan and prioritise team tasks to meet project milestones and production schedules.
Conduct regular team briefings, performance reviews and skills development activities.
Coordinate with cross‑functional teams including chassis design, software, integration and quality to ensure seamless delivery of electrical systems.
Design, Integration & Documentation
Oversee development and review of chassis electrical schematics, wiring harness layouts, connector and component selection.
Maintain and control technical documentation including wiring diagrams, bill of materials, change records and test procedures.
Support configuration control and ECO processes for electrical components and assemblies.
Testing, Validation & Commissioning
Develop and supervise testing programmes for harnesses, controllers, sensors and power distribution systems.
Lead fault diagnosis and root cause investigations, implement corrective actions and lessons learned.
Coordinate on‑vehicle commissioning activities, validate electrical interfaces and performance under operational conditions.
Ensure test results are recorded accurately and reported to engineering and project stakeholders.
Quality, Safety & Compliance
Ensure all electrical work complies with company quality standards, industry best practice and applicable safety regulations.
Promote safe work practices and ensure the team follows electrical safety procedures and permit‑to‑work systems.
Support supplier quality management for outsourced harness and component suppliers, including inspections and audits.
Procurement & Supplier Liaison
Support procurement activities by specifying electrical components, reviewing supplier quotations and lead times.
Liaise with vendors to resolve technical issues, track deliveries and manage spare parts inventory for chassis electrical systems.
Qualifications
Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Mechatronics or related discipline.
Valid UAE driving licence preferred.
Familiarity with automotive electrical systems, wiring harness design, CAN/LIN networks and vehicle power distribution.
Proficient with technical documentation tools; experience with CAD for electrical schematics and wiring (e.g. EPLAN, AutoCAD Electrical) is an advantage.
Experience
5+ years’ experience in automotive or heavy vehicle electrical systems, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or team lead role.
Proven experience in wiring harness design, installation, testing and fault finding in chassis applications.
Experience working with suppliers and manufacturing/assembly teams in a production environment.
Prior exposure to vehicle commissioning and integration activities on site or at customer facilities is beneficial.
Skills & Competencies
Technical Skills
Strong electrical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills; experience using oscilloscopes, multimeters and vehicle diagnostic tools.
Good understanding of vehicle communications (CAN, LIN), grounding strategies and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) considerations.
Ability to produce and interpret wiring diagrams, harness layouts and connector pin‑outs.
Competent in Microsoft Office for reporting and basic data analysis.

Strong leadership and people management skills with a practical, hands‑on approach.

On‑time completion of electrical design and harness production milestones.
Reduction in electrical faults and post‑delivery issues.
Timeliness and accuracy of test reports and defect resolution.
Team productivity, training completion and health & safety compliance.
