Cashier

As a Cashier, you will play a crucial role in delivering excellent customer service and facilitating seamless transactions. Your primary responsibility will be to manage all aspects of payment processing and ensure accuracy in cash handling. You are the first point of contact for customers, responsible for creating a positive and friendly shopping experience. 

Responsibilities

• Process customer transactions accurately, including cash, credit, and debit payments.
• Provide a friendly and professional greeting to all customers upon entry.
• Ensure the cash register is balanced at the end of each shift.
• Assist with packing customer purchases and managing shopping bag allocation.
• Address customer complaints and resolve issues effectively and efficiently.
• Keep the checkout area clean and organized, free of clutter and hazards.
• Cross-sell and upsell products and services to maximize sales opportunities.
• Coordinate with floor staff to ensure stock availability and replenishment.
• Follow established procedures for handling product exchanges and refunds.
• Monitor cash register supplies, such as receipt tape and bags, to prevent shortages.
• Participate in training sessions and meetings as required by management.
• Implement store policies and security measures to prevent theft and fraud.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent is required for this position.
• Previous cashier or customer service experience is preferred.
• Strong mathematical skills to manage and count money accurately.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with customers.
• Attention to detail and ability to maintain focus during busy times.
• Basic computer skills for operating point-of-sale systems and software.
• Ability to stand for extended periods during the workday shift.
