Responsibilities

• Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently using the point of sale system.
• Provide warm and friendly customer service, addressing inquiries and resolving issues.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked checkout area at all times.
• Count money in cash drawers at the beginning and end of shifts to ensure accuracy.
• Bag, box or wrap purchased items and collect payments from customers.
• Assist customers by providing product information and answering questions.
• Monitor and report any discrepancies or irregularities during transactions.
• Carry out daily reconciliation of cash drawers against physical cash count.
• Support overall productivity by assisting with floor duties when needed.
• Adhere to company policies and regulations regarding cash handling and security.
• Engage with customers to build a positive shopping experience and encourage loyalty.
• Coordinate with team members to facilitate seamless and efficient store operations.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a cashier or customer service role is preferred.
• Strong numerical skills and proficiency with cash handling are essential.
• Excellent communication skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
• Attention to detail and ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent educational qualification is required.
• Basic proficiency in using point of sale (POS) systems is beneficial.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed.
