We are seeking a diligent and customer-focused Cashier to join our team. As a Cashier, you will be the first point of contact for our customers and contribute significantly to the customer experience. The ideal candidate will have a warm personality, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage financial transactions accurately. You will be responsible for handling cash, credit and debit transactions, resolving customer complaints, and maintaining a clean and organized checkout area. In addition, the Cashier must demonstrate an understanding of our products and services to assist customers effectively. Responsibilities

• Process customer transactions accurately, including cash, credit, and debit sales.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and friendly checkout area to enhance customer experience.
• Assist customers by providing information and answering questions about products and services.
• Resolve customer complaints and issues efficiently and politely to maintain satisfaction.
• Count money in cash drawers at the beginning and end of shifts to ensure amounts are correct.
• Monitor checkout stations to ensure they have adequate cash and are functioning properly.
• Follow company policies regarding payments, returns, and exchanges to minimize errors.
• Provide exceptional customer service by acknowledging customers and thanking them for their patronage.
• Collaborate with sales associates to maintain inventory and stock shelves as needed.
• Stay updated on promotions, product knowledge, and store policies to answer customer queries.
• Implement loss prevention techniques to ensure store profitability and prevent theft.
• Operate electronic cash registers and other related equipment to facilitate transactions.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent qualification is preferred but not mandatory.
• Previous experience working as a cashier or in customer service is beneficial.
• Strong mathematical skills and attention to detail for managing cash transactions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with customers.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Must be able to stand for extended periods and work flexible shifts, including weekends.
• Proficiency in using computers and POS systems for conducting transactions.
