Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean and orderly checkout area to ensure a pleasant shopping experience.
• Ensure accuracy in the cash drawer at opening and closing, managing minimal discrepancies.
• Assist customers with locating products and answer general inquiries effectively.
• Balance cash register receipts, tallying payments and ensuring consistency with sales data.
• Provide solutions to customer complaints and escalate issues to supervisor when necessary.
• Monitor customer activity to prevent potential theft or fraudulent transactions.
• Collaborate with other team members to facilitate smooth store operations and customer flow.
• Maintain an awareness of all promotions and advertisements to inform customers accurately.
• Participate in store meetings and training sessions to stay updated on operational policies.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent qualification is required for this position.
• Proven experience as a cashier or in a similar customer service role.
• Familiarity with electronic equipment such as cash register and credit card machines.
• Strong communication skills to interact effectively with customers and team members.
• Mathematical skills and the ability to handle transactions accurately and efficiently.
• Basic computer skills, including familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems.
• Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a high level of responsibility.
