A cashier plays a crucial role in the financial and operational success of a retail establishment. They are responsible for managing transactions between the establishment and its customers, ensuring that all payments are processed efficiently and accurately. Responsibilities

• Accurately process cash, credit, and debit transactions using the POS system.
• Ensure the checkout area is clean, organized, and presentable at all times.
• Greet customers with a friendly demeanor and assist with their inquiries.
• Maintain an accurate cash drawer, balancing it at the end of every shift.
• Count money in cash drawers at the beginning of shifts to ensure amounts are correct.
• Handle customer complaints and escalate issues to management if needed.
• Bag, box, or package purchases, ensuring that goods are handled safely.
• Process returns and exchanges following company policies and procedures.
• Stay informed about current promotions, discounts, and store policies.
• Monitor and report any discrepancies in cash or customer interactions.
• Assist with inventory counts and replenishment in the store when necessary.
• Provide excellent customer service to enhance the overall shopping experience.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent educational qualification.
• Previous experience as a cashier or in a related customer service role.
• Familiarity with POS systems and basic financial transaction handling.
• Excellent mathematical skills and a keen eye for detail.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
