Job Description

The Cashier position is vital in ensuring a smooth and efficient checkout process for customers. As a Cashier, you will handle customer transactions, process payments, and ensure accurate cash management. Responsibilities

  • Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently at the checkout counter.

  • Handle cash, credit, and debit card transactions while balancing register at end of shift.
  • Assist customers with bagging their purchases to expedite the checkout process.
  • Resolve customer complaints in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Monitor cash register transactions for any discrepancies or potential fraud.
  • Communicate effectively with the team to provide updates on inventory or customer issues.
  • Assist customers in locating merchandise and recommend products based on their needs.
  • Perform price checks and processing returns and exchanges as needed.
  • Stay informed about store promotions and advertisements to provide accurate information.
  • Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing sales and store goals.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent education is required for this position.
  • Prior experience in a cash handling or customer service role is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with customers and staff.
  • Strong numerical skills for handling cash and processing transactions accurately.
  • Ability to handle transactions quickly in a busy retail environment.
  • Proficient in using cash registers and handling monetary transactions reliably.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks.
