We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Carpenter to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will possess a thorough understanding of carpentry techniques along with expertise in measuring, cutting, and assembling woodwork. As a Carpenter, you will be responsible for building and repairing structures and other items, made of wood or wood substitutes, ensuring all projects meet safety standards and building codes. You will work on construction sites and be involved in various tasks, from small repairs to major renovations. Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and physical stamina are essential for this role. Candidates with a proven track record in similar roles are highly encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to fully grasp project requirements.
• Take measurements and calculate the size and amount of material needed for projects.
• Cut, shape, and smooth lumber and other material according to measurements.
• Build window frames, doors, staircases, and frame buildings by using raw materials or pre-constructed items.
• Layout floorings, roofing, or drywall ensuring they are leveled and compatible.
• Inspect places and conduct repairs or maintenance, when necessary.
• Use hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machines proficiently and safely.
• Install structures and fixtures such as windows, frames, floorings, and trim based on design specifications.
• Collaborate with contractors, subcontractors, and other construction professionals.
• Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly working environments.
• Perform work in accordance with job specifications, architectural plans, and local building regulations.
• Estimate material costs and time for project completion, providing reports to the project manager.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a carpenter in building and construction projects.
• Demonstrable ability to work with carpentry materials and hand tools.
• Good understanding of basic math and geometry calculations.
• Physical ability to handle the workload including bending, lifting, and standing for long periods.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail in project execution.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team under minimum supervision.
• Formal carpentry apprenticeship or technical carpentry training is an advantage.
