Job Description

The Cargo Operations Coordinator is an integral part of the logistics team responsible for overseeing and facilitating the transportation of goods from one location to another. This role is critical in ensuring that cargo is handled efficiently, safely, and in compliance with all regulatory standards. A successful Cargo Operations Coordinator will manage various logistics processes, coordinate with carriers, and maintain communication with clients to guarantee timely deliveries. This position demands exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to solve problems swiftly. The coordinator will work closely with multiple stakeholders to optimize cargo handling and logistics strategies, aiming to improve efficiency and reduce costs.


Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage day-to-day operations of cargo transportation effectively.
  • Collaborate with carriers and logistics companies to schedule shipments.
  • Ensure compliance with all transportation safety regulations and standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of shipment and delivery details across systems.
  • Communicate with clients to confirm delivery windows and any special requests.
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize logistics efficiency and cost savings.
  • Supervise the loading and unloading of cargo to prevent damages.
  • Prepare and analyze reports on shipment data and performance metrics.
  • Resolve issues related to delayed shipments or cargo damage promptly.
  • Coordinate with customs officials to ensure seamless cargo clearance.
  • Support the implementation of new logistics software tools and systems.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by responding to queries and concerns effectively.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  • At least two years of experience in cargo operations or logistics roles.
  • Proficiency in logistics and shipment management software tools required.
  • Strong understanding of transportation regulations and industry standards.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and keen attention to detail are essential.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with clients.
  • Problem-solving skills to address logistics challenges quickly and efficiently.
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
