CAD Drafter - Mechanical Designer

You are a detail-oriented problem solver who is always looking for ways to improve. The CAD Drafter is responsible for the creation and timely release of engineered parts and assemblies that are error free and ready for purchase or fabrication. At Atlas Copco Mafi-Trench, you will be working in a collaborative engineering/production environment that fosters creativity and innovation.

The compensation (range) for the CAD Drafter position is $32.10 per hour to $40.13 hourly depending on skill. Depending on skill and experience, an applicant may be considered for the position of Mechanical Designer. The compensation (range) for this position is $91,709.28 to $108,393.48 annually. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus. What You Will Own/improve

• Provide expertise in solid modeling, drafting and mechanical design
• Ensure design standards and best practices are maintained
• Support Manufacturing and Engineering by providing detailed design information, and solutions
  
  

To succeed, you will need

• You possess a certificate in engineering drafting, Certified Solidworks Associate (CSWA) is a plus
• Ability to read engineering drawings
• Drafting experience, Solidworks experience preferred, AutoCAD experience is a plus
• Solid modeling experience, Solidworks experience preferred, Solidworks Routing experience is a plus
• You possess an understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
• Working knowledge of MS-Word, MS-Excel is a plus
• ERP software experience desired. SAP experience is a plus
• PLM software experience desired. Enovia/3DX experience is a plus

• You will gain a detailed understanding of core rotating machinery and systems mechanical design.
• You will be able to create and maintain models, and drawings in Solidworks and in AutoCAD
• You will learn to create and maintain bill of materials in the ERP systems (SAP)
• You will learn to create and maintain parts and assemblies in the PLM system (Enovia)
• You will update and add to the design guide by creating Wiki content
• You will work closely with shop personnel to ensure ease of manufacturing
