Job Purpose

The Cabin & Safety Workshop maintains the interior furnishings, seats, and safety equipment on Emirates aircraft. They are divided into several specialized areas:

Evacuation and Safety Workshop: Tests, repairs, and overhauls emergency equipment like escape slides, life jackets, HST , oxygen cylinders and fire extinguishers for the A380 and B777 fleets.

Cabin Workshops: Repair and Overhauls passenger seats, galleys, lavatories, carpets and other cabin and cargo components, including leather and upholstery repair for all Emirates fleets.

Line & Base heavy Support Group: Repairs and Overhauls cabin components for all Emirates.

The Cabin Workshop Approved Controller is responsible for planning, developing, and overseeing the maintenance, repair, modification, and overhaul of aircraft components and galley equipment installed on the Emirates fleet. This role also plays a critical part in enhancing workshop capabilities to support the continued growth of the fleet and in coordinating the implementation of planned modifications and service bulletins.

In This Role You Will

  • Identify and provide input for business cases relating to workshop expansion and development to meet EK fleet expansion.
  • Attend training modules as and when required by the Company to enhance skills and understanding that will benefit the business.
  • Establish effective up-down rapport with Licensed Aircraft Engineers to maintain a seamless two-way flow of information to highlight/detect/arrest any scenarios that might be disruptive to the operation.
  • Plan and control workload on a daily basis ensuring that production targets and agreed turnaround times are met.
  • Release and certify component tasks, ensure that all approved repairs and component overhaul are carried out in accordance with vendor manuals and EK procedures.
  • Control quality and safety requirements ensuring that all calibrated equipment and tools meet quality standards.
  • Provide coaching and leadership for junior staff passing any training requirements to the Workshop Manager for consideration.
  • Liaise with other departments such as development and stores as required highlighting concerns or problems with equipment or spares.
  • Liaise with Engineering technical services on technical issues relating to Aircraft equipment’s carried aboard the EK fleet.
  • Conduct daily safety and workshop audits in order to ensure that critical cleanliness and safety standards are maintained to enable work to be carried out to the required manufacturers standards.

Qualification

To be considered for the role, you must meet the below requirements:

  • Diploma in Aeronautical/Avionics/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent OR Maintenance Engineering Licence holder and Workshop approval with 2 years as certifying component release.
  • Min 8 years of experience in Engineering / Aircraft Component Maintenance.
  • Min of 4 Workshops Authorisation or Airframe License issued from GCAA Authority as required for the Workshop operation.
  • Must possess required vendor training and a certificate of authorisation for Aircraft Component/ Galley Equipment.
  • Experience in repairs overhaul modification on Aircraft Component/ Galley Equipment.
  • Must have served an apprenticeship with an airline/approved maintenance organisation or have received equivalent formal training from an approved organisation.
