STS Aviation Services is hiring a Buyer in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. This role plays a critical part in supporting procurement operations within a fast-paced aviation maintenance environment. Position Overview

The Buyer is responsible for managing the full procurement cycle for aviation and non-aviation materials, parts, supplies, and services essential to business operations. This includes sourcing and negotiating with suppliers, issuing and tracking purchase orders, coordinating logistics, and supporting finance-related procurement activities.

This position requires strong analytical skills, supplier management expertise, and a working knowledge of financial controls within a regulated aviation environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all purchasing activities for aviation and non-aviation parts, materials, supplies, and services
  • Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, reliability, cost, and regulatory compliance
  • Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules to optimize procurement spend
  • Prepare, issue, and track purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and timely execution
  • Resolve order discrepancies, supplier delays, and non-compliance issues
  • Ensure procurement transactions align with budgets, internal policies, and aviation regulations
  • Coordinate delivery of purchased items and maintain communication to ensure on-time performance
  • Ensure import and export documentation meets audit and regulatory standards in coordination with the Logistics team
  • Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure consistent quality and service
  • Conduct supplier performance evaluations and implement improvement actions as needed
  • Explore alternative suppliers and strategic sourcing opportunities to reduce costs and lead times
  • Monitor procurement spending against approved budgets
  • Assist with cost analysis, reporting, and identification of cost-saving opportunities
  • Provide procurement data and reports to Finance for forecasting, budgeting, and audit support
  • Identify inefficiencies in procurement procedures and recommend process improvements
  • Support implementation of standardized procurement workflows and best practices
  • Collaborate with Finance and Operations to strengthen purchasing controls and approval workflows
  • Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, contracts, and supplier documentation for audit purposes
  • Prepare periodic procurement and finance reports highlighting spending trends and supplier performance

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
  • 2 to 4 years of procurement experience, preferably in aviation MRO, aerospace, or technical manufacturing
  • Experience with finance-related procurement tasks such as budget tracking, PO approvals, and invoice reconciliation preferred
  • Strong supplier management and contract negotiation skills
  • Understanding of financial control procedures related to procurement
  • Proficiency in ERP systems such as Acumatica, SharePoint, Monday, and Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent communication skills for coordination with internal teams, finance, and suppliers
  • Proactive mindset with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-moving environment
