Job Description

As a Buyer specializing in Spare Parts, you will play a pivotal role in our procurement team, ensuring that the correct spare parts and components are procured in a timely and cost-effective manner to support our company's operational requirements. This role involves collaborating with various departments, analyzing market trends, and maintaining relationships with suppliers to maintain optimal inventory levels and ensure the quality of procured parts. Your expertise will be critical in negotiating contracts, reducing costs, and improving procurement processes. We are looking for someone with strong analytical skills, excellent communication prowess, and substantial experience in supply chain management, particularly in the realm of spare parts purchase.


Responsibilities

  • Identify and evaluate suppliers for the purchase of spare parts and materials.
  • Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements with vendors and suppliers effectively.
  • Create purchase orders and manage order fulfillment and delivery timelines.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential suppliers.
  • Monitor inventory levels to ensure timely availability of required spare parts.
  • Collaborate with the engineering and maintenance teams to forecast spare part needs.
  • Review and analyze market trends to identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and standards in procurement activities.
  • Handle any issues related to delayed, incorrect, or defective deliveries promptly.
  • Maintain detailed records and databases of inventories and purchase transactions.
  • Prepare reports on procurement metrics, including cost reduction initiatives.
  • Implement best practices in the procurement of spare parts to enhance efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business, or a related field.
  • At least three years of experience as a buyer or in a similar role.
  • Proven experience in spare parts purchasing and inventory management.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills are crucial for supplier interactions.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and inventory management systems is required.
  • Excellent analytical skills to analyze market trends and forecast needs.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
