Virtucruit is partnering with a leading mining company in Saudi Arabia, to appoint a Buyer / Purchaser within the Procurement & Supply Chain function.
This role is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing the supply of materials, equipment, and services required for mining operations. The successful candidate will ensure timely procurement, cost optimization, supplier management, and compliance with company policies to support uninterrupted operational performance.
This appointment offers an opportunity for a detail-oriented procurement professional to contribute to the efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and reliability of procurement operations.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement & Sourcing
Identify and evaluate suppliers for goods and services required by the organization.
Issue requests for quotations (RFQs), evaluate proposals, and negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions.
Ensure procurement aligns with company policies, budget, and operational requirements.
Maintain accurate purchase records and documentation for audits.
Supplier & Contract Management
Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors.
Monitor supplier performance, delivery schedules, and quality compliance.
Support contract negotiation and administration for procurement agreements.
Resolve supplier issues and discrepancies in a timely manner.
Inventory & Cost Management
Collaborate with inventory and operations teams to ensure stock availability.
Analyze procurement trends and costs to identify savings opportunities.
Maintain cost-effective purchasing while ensuring quality and operational requirements are met.
Compliance & Reporting
Ensure all purchasing activities comply with company policies and local regulations.
Prepare regular procurement reports on purchases, supplier performance, and cost metrics.
Assist in audits and provide required procurement documentation.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field.
Professional certifications (e.g., CIPS, CPSM) are an advantage.
Experience
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain in industrial, mining, or heavy equipment sectors.
Proven experience in vendor management, contract negotiation, and cost optimization.
Experience in mining or industrial operations is a strong advantage.
Technical Skills
Strong knowledge of procurement processes, vendor management, and supply chain principles.
Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar).
Excellent negotiation, analytical, and reporting skills.
Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
