What You Need To Know

This role reports into the PMO Director but will work closely with the Business Unit SVP/VP on an operational basis.

The Business Unit Manager of Projects will be responsible for the oversight and management reporting of all projects within their Business Unit. This role is a combined one, as they will also carry out the roles and responsibilities of the Manager of Projects (MoP).

The Business Unit Manager of Projects will support all Projects within their Business Unit, to ensure they meet their goals and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). They will support the Manager of Projects in each BU location to maintain the correct headcount to meet the workload requirements – including Senior Project Managers, Project Managers, Senior Project Coordinators, Project Coordinators, Project Planners and Document Control.

They will also lead the monthly PSR meetings and management reporting, and act as the first level of escalation for the project teams and clients, ensuring all concerns are reviewed, mitigation prepared and presented to the client and communicated to the Business Unit SVP/VP and PMO Director.

What We Are Looking For

Some of the Key Accountabilities:

  • Lead and support Project Management teams, ensuring strong focus on HSE, Quality, OTD, and financial performance
  • Provide full oversight of all BU projects, ensuring alignment with company processes, GBMS, and standard tools
  • Maintain close alignment with PMO Director, BU leadership, and Managers of Projects
  • Ensure effective Risk, Opportunity, and Change Management across all projects
  • Drive weekly escalation and cross-functional coordination meetings to resolve risks and maintain progress
  • Oversee milestone invoicing and cash flow alignment
  • Monitor PM utilization, OTD forecasts, and project KPIs, reporting to leadership regularly
  • Lead Project Status Reviews (PSRs) and support monthly EAC reviews with FP&A
  • Ensure project teams are competent, resourced, and performance-managed, including training and development
  • Review and plan project headcount needs based on workload forecasts
  • Foster continuous improvement in PM processes, tools, and practices in alignment with PMO
  • Promote strong stakeholder communication, commercial awareness, and lessons learned sharing

Qualifications / Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience of managing EPC projects.
  • Excellent customer focus and relationship building.
  • Subsea industry experience, preferable.
  • Project delivery experience in project execution processes and principles.
  • Experience in resource management.
  • Fluent in English Language.
  • Tools: MS Project, Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Preferred: Microsoft AX12, Primavera P6.

Work Conditions

The Manager of Projects will be expected to carry out the work under the following conditions:

  • Position base limited to one the following countries: UK (Norfolk), USA (Houston), Norway (Trondheim), India (Chennai) or Dubai full time. The base will normally be where you are situated unless mutually agreed otherwise for business requirements.
  • Standard working hours but occasionally will be expected to work extended hours to meet critical deadlines.
  • It is not expected that the Manager of Projects will have to work offshore.
  • It is expected that the Manager of Projects will have to visit other facilities and main Subcontractors during Projects.
