Job Summary:

The Business Unit Head – Branded Business is a critical role responsible for driving the overall performance of the branded / innovative products portfolio. The incumbent will define and execute the commercial strategy, and position the organization as a market leader in branded / innovative products. This role requires strong leadership to build and inspire high-performing cross-functional teams, deliver sustainable revenue growth, and enhance patient access across key markets.

Key responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership and P&L Management

• Responsible for overall P&L Management for Branded Business portfolio
• Define and execute annual business plans and long-term strategy
• Drive revenue growth, profitability, and market share within approved budgets
• Identify new business opportunities and expand the portfolio strategically
• Ensure optimal allocation of resources for maximum ROI

Commercial Excellence

• Lead development and execution of brand strategies and marketing plans
• Deliver and exceed sales, market share, and margin targets
• Strengthen market leadership positioning through differentiated value propositions
• Ensure seamless execution of commercial initiatives across geographies

Product Launch & Lifecycle Management

• Lead end-to-end launch strategy and execution for new products, indications, and formulations
• Drive successful adoption of key brands, including biologics and specialty therapies
• Optimize performance across the entire product lifecycle
• Ensure timely, high-quality launch readiness and execution

Cross-Functional Leadership

• Lead and integrate Sales, Marketing, Medical Affairs, and Market Access teams
• Establish clear performance metrics (KPIs) and incentive structures
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and high performance
• Build strong succession pipelines and develop future leaders

Market & Stakeholder Engagement

• Build and maintain strong relationships with:
• Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs)
• Dermatologists and healthcare professionals
• Hospital pharmacists and public sector stakeholders
• Gather deep market insights through continuous field engagement
• Position the organization as a trusted partner and solution provider

Market Intelligence & Execution Alignment

• Drive robust market intelligence systems to inform decision-making
• Ensure alignment between:
• Global strategy
• Regional priorities
• Local execution
• Facilitate seamless communication between field teams and brand teams

Governance & Compliance

• Ensure all activities comply with regulatory, ethical, and corporate standards
• Uphold strict adherence to healthcare regulations and internal policies
• Mitigate risks and ensure governance excellence

Job Requirements

Educational Qualification

Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Business, or Pharmacy. An MBA or advanced degree is highly desirable.

Experience

10+ years of experience working as BU Head for Branded Business in Multi-National (MNC) organization will be preferred
