Business Development Specialist – LAAC, GEM

Purpose Statement

Responsible for increasing the number of patients treated with, and/or the market share of, cardiology franchise products across the assigned territory. The role focuses on building and leveraging relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), hospital administration, and medical societies, while developing and implementing education and training programs for physicians and hospital staff covering patient identification, referral pathways, clinical case support, and follow-up procedures. Accountable for achieving therapy adoption and supporting sales growth across cardiology and related medical sectors. May also include responsibility for the Distributor market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Market & Business Awareness
  • Maintain awareness of industry, competition, healthcare and economic trends across the cardiology landscape.
  • Adjust franchise business plans to reflect evolving regional market conditions.
  • Business Development & Sales Strategy
  • Identify new business opportunities and key accounts through strong relationships with cardiology KOLs, medical societies, and academic institutions.
  • Develop and execute strategies to grow the number of patients treated and increase market share in target MENA countries.
  • Present economic value and clinical benefits to hospital executives and decision-makers.
  • Manage contract design and negotiation across all therapies and solutions within the franchise.
  • Drive therapy awareness across key focus MENA countries to expand reach and accelerate adoption.
  • Therapy Awareness, Patient Pathway Development & Referral Programs
  • Identify key stakeholders (Cardiology, GI, Neurology, General Practitioners, etc.) to support patient identification and streamline the therapy pathway.
  • Develop and implement structured referral programs in alignment with the Marketing team.
  • Track patient collection and pathway performance, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Education, Clinical & Procedural Support
  • Train and educate HCPs on patient identification, referral protocols, therapy implementation, and follow-up processes.
  • Provide high-quality clinical case support during procedures to ensure best-in-class clinical outcomes.
  • Attend and participate in customer, company, and industry forums, courses, or educational events.
  • Act as a strong partner to the Marketing team in delivering and supporting LAAC-related educational events and therapy-awareness initiatives.
  • Collaboration & Cross-Functional Support
  • Work closely with sales teams to maintain relationships with economic buyers and clinical stakeholders in key accounts.
  • Educate local sales teams to take over projects after successful implementation and stabilization.
  • Collaborate with HEMA and HS&P teams to address barriers and deploy tools such as patient identification systems.
  • Quality & Compliance
  • Serve as an interface between customers and the sales organization to address complaints, issues, and product queries.
  • Guide the local leadership team to ensure adherence to Boston Scientific Quality System requirements and all applicable local regulations.
