Job Description

The Business Development Manager for Freight & Logistics will play a crucial role in driving the growth and success of our logistics and freight operations. This position is designed for a dynamic and experienced professional who is passionate about expanding market presence, building strategic relationships, and contributing to the bottom-line growth of the company. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the logistics industry, including domestic and international freight, and will possess exceptional negotiation and communication skills. As the key driver of our business expansion efforts, the Business Development Manager will identify new business opportunities, develop and implement strategies to capture these opportunities, and work collaboratively with internal teams to deliver world-class logistics solutions to our clients.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic plans to achieve sales targets and expand the customer base.
  • Identify new business opportunities through research, networking, and market analysis.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting client relationships to drive repeat business.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to tailor innovative freight solutions for clients.
  • Negotiate contracts with clients and close agreements to maximize profits.
  • Analyze the industry landscape to identify trends and emerging opportunities.
  • Prepare and present proposals and reports to executive management and clients.
  • Monitor customer, market, and competitor activity to stay ahead of industry shifts.
  • Ensure a detailed understanding of customer needs and customize solutions accordingly.
  • Provide reliable sales forecasts and track sales performance metrics to ensure targets are met.
  • Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of business opportunities through proactive measures.
  • Report on progress and business metrics to inform strategic decision-making processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Logistics, or a related field is required.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in business development in the logistics sector.
  • Proven track record of achieving revenue growth and business expansion goals.
  • Strong understanding of domestic and international freight and logistics operations.
  • Exceptional negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Ability to work effectively across different teams and manage multiple client accounts.
  • Proficiency in using CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite for business tasks.
  • Experience in strategic planning and execution within the logistics industry.
  • Able to analyze complex data and develop actionable insights for business strategies.
  • Willingness to travel as required to meet with clients and develop business relationships.
