Job Description

The Business Development Manager (Event Sponsorship) plays a critical role in identifying, securing, and managing sponsorship opportunities for events. This dynamic position requires an individual who can strategize and execute plans to target potential sponsors, foster and maintain relationships, and ensure sponsorship goals are met. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with a passion for event management and a knack for negotiation and sales. They will collaborate closely with the marketing and event teams to deliver innovative and effective sponsorship packages that meet the needs of corporate partners while aligning with the overall goals of the organization. The Business Development Manager will also be responsible for analyzing market trends to identify new opportunities and ensure the organization's competitiveness in the industry.


Responsibilities

  • Identify potential sponsors by conducting research and market analysis.
  • Develop robust sponsorship packages that attract and engage potential partners.
  • Negotiate terms and agreements with sponsors to secure mutually beneficial partnerships.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with existing sponsors and prospects.
  • Work collaboratively with the marketing team to maximize sponsorship visibility and value.
  • Manage sponsorship budget, ensuring effective allocation and utilization of resources.
  • Track sponsorship sales and ensure all contractual obligations are fulfilled.
  • Organize and lead meetings with potential and existing sponsors to discuss partnership opportunities.
  • Prepare and present detailed reports on sponsorship activities and outcomes to senior management.
  • Stay updated with industry trends to identify new sponsorship opportunities and leads.
  • Handle all administrative tasks related to sponsorship agreements and follow-ups.
  • Coordinate with event staff to ensure sponsor needs and expectations are consistently met.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in business development or sponsorship sales.
  • Proven track record of successfully securing event sponsorship deals.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines with diligence.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and keen attention to detail are essential.
  • Experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams in event environments.
