About the Role:

We are seeking a results-driven Business Development Manager – Commercial Insurance to drive growth and expand our presence within the commercial insurance segment. This role is responsible for acquiring new business, strengthening market presence, and managing key corporate client relationships through a consultative and solution-oriented approach.

In this role, you will focus on identifying new business opportunities, building strategic partnerships, and delivering tailored insurance solutions that address the risk management needs of corporate clients. You will play a key role in driving revenue growth while ensuring high standards of customer service and engagement.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Business Development:
  • Identify, approach, and acquire new SME and Corporate clients across various sectors in the UAE.
  • Develop a sustainable pipeline of SME and Corporate prospects through networking, referrals, market research, and direct sales activities.
  • Conduct risk assessments and needs analysis to recommend suitable insurance solutions.
  • Promote and place insurance products including (but not limited to):
    • Group Medical Insurance
    • Workmen Compensation
    • Motor Fleet Insurance
    • Property & Business Interruption
    • Liability (Public, Employers, Professional)
  • Prepare and present insurance proposals, quotations, and renewals to clients.
  • Sales Target & Revenue Achievement:
  • Achieve assigned SME and Corporate revenue targets in line with company budgets and strategic objectives.
  • Track sales performance, pipeline status, and conversion ratios.
  • Support timely follow-up for premium payment to insurer by client, coordinate with finance and operations teams.
  • Contribute to portfolio profitability and sustainable growth.
  • Client Relationship & Account Management:
  • Act as the primary relationship manager for assigned SME and Corporate accounts.
  • Manage policy renewals, endorsements, and coverage reviews to ensure continuity of cover.
  • Maintain long-term client relationships through proactive engagement and service quality.
  • Ensure client retention and identify cross-selling and up-selling opportunities.
  • Regulatory Compliance & Governance (CBUAE Aligned):
  • Ensure full compliance with UAE insurance regulations, including those issued by the Central Bank of the UAE (CBUAE).
  • Adhere to CBUAE Insurance Brokerage Regulations, including conduct of business requirements.
  • Ensure proper KYC, AML, and client due diligence is completed and documented.
  • MUST Avoid misselling by ensuring insurance solutions are appropriate, transparent, and aligned with client risk profiles.
  • Ensure all client communications, disclosures, and policy documentation meet regulatory standards.
  • Maintain accurate records in line with regulatory and internal audit requirements.
  • Market Knowledge & Product Expertise:
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of UAE insurance market trends, insurer underwriting appetite, pricing, and regulatory changes.
  • Stay informed of mandatory insurance requirements applicable to SMEs and Corporate clients in the UAE.
  • Provide professional advice to clients based on current market and regulatory developments.
  • Internal & External Coordination:
  • Liaise with insurance companies, underwriters, and service providers to secure competitive terms.
  • Coordinate with internal underwriting, operations, claims, and compliance teams to ensure efficient service delivery.
  • Support clients during claims processes by coordinating with internal teams and insurers.
  • Reporting & Administration:
  • Maintain accurate and complete client records in policy administration systems.
  • Submit periodic sales reports, pipeline updates, and performance reviews to management.
  • Ensure all proposals, quotations, and policy documents are properly archived and accessible for audit purposes.
What We’re Looking For

Education: Bachelor’s degree in any related field

Experience: Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Sales role

Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow a portfolio of SME clients, offering tailored trade finance solutions.
  • Build strong client relationships and understand their financial needs and goals.
  • Offer structured trade finance products such as letters of credit, bank guarantees, and supply chain financing.
  • Optimize clients' liquidity and operational efficiency through tailored working capital solutions.
  • Drive profitability by cross-selling additional banking products and services.
  • Conduct thorough credit risk assessments and ensure compliance with bank policies and regulations.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and market dynamics to provide relevant financial solutions.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless service delivery and client satisfaction.
  • Prepare and present financial proposals and reports to clients, highlighting the benefits of our trade finance products.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of client interactions and transactions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in relationship management or trade finance.
  • Strong knowledge of trade finance products and working capital solutions.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a client-centric approach.
  • Ability to build rapport and trust with clients, understanding their unique needs.
  • Proficiency in financial analysis and credit risk assessment techniques.
  • Familiarity with banking regulations and compliance standards.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Willingness to stay updated on industry trends and best practices.
