JOB SUMMARY: The Business Development Analyst will perform activities necessary to develop Excelerate Energy’s new and existing business globally, with a particular focus on the Middle East and Africa, efforts include supporting in the development of the company’s strategy for growth and assisting manage the company’s international business.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include but are not limited to the following activities:

  • Work with Senior Manager(s), VP and other team members in developing the company’s strategy to grow its business
  • Analyze different commercial structures and strategic partnerships in order to implement the company’s growth objectives globally.
  • Analyze data, market fundamentals to identify areas where Excelerate Energy can catalyze market development based on a thorough understanding of local markets and the full suite of products and services offered by EE.
  • Assist in managing the company’s international business units by coordinating with functional departments – Technical, Operations, Finance, Tax, Legal, and Environmental - to ensure objectives and needs of each group are met by the Business Unit.
  • Prepare and manage responses to competitive tenders by driving bidding strategy, project tracking, document control, overseeing preparation of relevant contracts with lawyers and environmental efforts related to projects.
  • Develop clear and concise presentation materials for senior management for the purpose of communicating project designs, costs, and economics.
  • Assist in negotiations for definitive agreements such as charter agreements, terminal use agreements, JV agreements, and other necessary contracts directly with customers, partners and contractors.
  • Develop and implement an integrated strategy for Excelerate Energy’s activities, including regional priorities and business targets, with a focus on regasification projects but also on other areas of EEs business.
  • Identify measures to improve country results in terms of efficiency, productivity, profitability and increase its contribution to the corporate strategic objectives.
  • Develop Excelerate Energy’s global brand and the overall strategy.
  • Initiate and progress project origination discussions with potential counterparties around the globe.
  • Provide timely and accurate status reports on projects.
  • Extensive international travel may be required.

Oversee and support all aspects of new project opportunity development by:

  • Contacting prospective customers.
  • Analyzing project specific requirements and working with the technical term to create specific solutions.
  • Develop project economic analyses and internal approval requests.
  • Coordinate the efforts of internal and external engineering, construction, legal and environmental teams from project design phase to commercial phase.
  • Prepare formal proposals and negotiate commercial agreements.
  • Oversee contract execution and manage the construction phase of the project from start to commissioning and turnover to Operations.

ABOUT YOU:

  • B.S. in Engineering, Finance, Economics, International Business, Marketing or related field from an accredited university. MBA preferred.
  • 2+ years energy industry experience preferred with an emphasis on the natural gas, power, shipping or upstream sectors.
  • Excellent analytical skills with strong ability relating to economic and financial analysis and valuations with capability to understand energy markets in order to drive strategy.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in data analytics and software applications including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Sales, commercial and/or development experience preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills required.
  • Must be able to work with little supervision and able to function in a challenging and dynamically changing environment.
  • Ability to present technical and commercial information in a clear and concise manner in individual and group settings.
  • Solid leadership, communication, motivation and interpersonal skills, and the ability to manage people and project(s) that will include working with individuals with varying disciplines, backgrounds and experience levels.
