The Opportunity

Arup is seeking a Business Analyst based in our Dubai office. This is an exciting opportunity to work with leadership teams on major projects in the Middle East and support our portfolio of projects for success.In this role you will be reporting to the Middle East Project Controls lead and support the Project Controls and delivery teams managing projects of different scales. Supporting the project controls leader and delivery team leads with development of financial and commercial models, tender submissions and project pursuits in the Middle East and associated Focus Markets.

Developing and implementing Excel macros and VBA scripts to automate tasks and increase efficiency. Supporting Project / Commercial Directors and Managers in compiling and automating relevant sections of monthly progress and governance reports. Ability to support rollout of key global and local initiatives within Arup (i.e., global software or process rollouts, etc.) as a project or regional champion.Ability to train up and inculcate interest in interns, and junior staff towards a data science, commercial / financial modelling and project controls career pathway

Is this role right for you?

We are looking for the following skills.

• Degree or diploma in business analytics, finance, business, data science or other relevant fields.
• Familiarity with power pivots, power queries, consolidating spreadsheets on SharePoint and locally, PowerBI and data analysis expressions (DAX).
• Relevant experience in working with engineering/architecture and construction environment preferred.
• Expert knowledge of MS Office Suite, MS PowerBI and other related standard applications/software programs and database management solutions.
• Experience in managing and organizing large sets of data, analytical thinking to extract effective insights, and capable of performing advance-level computations on datasets will be preferred.
• Ability to be based in the Middle East and be available to support Dubai and Middle East projects.
