Job Description: Brand Manager – Black + Decker
Role Purpose
The Brand Manager will be responsible for driving the growth and profitability of the Black & Decker brand, managing a USD 100M portfolio. This role will lead brand planning, product management, marketing campaigns, and go-to-market strategies to achieve market share, revenue, and profitability targets. The Brand Manager will collaborate cross-functionally with sales, trade marketing, finance, and supply chain to ensure successful execution of brand initiatives and alignment with the overall business strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Brand Strategy & Planning
- Develop and execute annual brand plans aligned to the company’s strategic goals and revenue targets.
- Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify opportunities for growth and innovation.
- Define brand positioning, messaging, and visual identity to strengthen Black & Decker’s market presence.
Product & Portfolio Management
- Manage the end-to-end product lifecycle including launches, SKU rationalization, and product improvements.
- Collaborate with global product teams to adapt and localize products for the regional market.
- Monitor product performance and profitability, recommending corrective actions as required.
Marketing Campaigns & Execution
- Lead integrated marketing campaigns across digital, retail, events, and trade channels.
- Develop and execute promotional plans to drive consumer engagement and increase sell-through.
- Manage advertising, PR, and influencer activities to enhance brand visibility and preference.
Commercial & Financial Management
- Own the P&L for the brand, ensuring delivery of sales, margin, and market share targets.
- Forecast demand and align with supply chain to maintain optimal inventory levels.
- Track ROI of marketing initiatives and optimize spend to achieve maximum effectiveness.
Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Sales and Trade Marketing to create channel-specific programs that drive conversion.
- Collaborate with finance to monitor pricing, profitability, and promotional spend effectiveness.
- Work closely with regional/global teams to align local strategy with international brand direction.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- 6–8 years of solid marketing experience, with at least 3 years in brand management or product marketing.
- Proven experience in managing large-scale brands with USD 50–100M+ annual turnover.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience in P&L ownership and data-driven decision making.
- Experience in consumer durables, FMCG, or tools/home appliances industry preferred.
- Excellent project management, analytical, and communication skills.
