Job Summary
In this role, the bits welder will be expected to join, fabricate, and repair metal and other weldable materials by applying appropriate techniques and using various welding devices. The ideal candidate will bring technical know-how and an innovative mindset to the role and help drive our industry-leading solutions.
Responsibilities/Accountabilty & Authority
Always follow safe work practices and procedures
Read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures
Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements
Set up components for welding according to specifications
Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal or overhead)
Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety
Proven experience as a welder with a minimum of two years’ experience.
Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures (TIG, MIG, arc, etc.)
Experience in using electrical or manual tools (vernier caliper, measuring tape, protractor, etc...)
Ability to read and understand technical documents and drawings
Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face-shield, gloves etc.)
Deftness and attention to detail
Successful completion of a relevant apprenticeship program is required
Professional Certification (e.g. an AWS welding certificate)
Knowledge of manual welding techniques
The habit of maintaining clean workspaces
The ability to learn new technologies and practices
The knowledge and ability to select the most appropriate tools for each situation
Qualifications And Experience (Education/No. Of Years Of Experience)
Diploma or ITI (Industrial Training Institute) / Technical training certification in welding.
Qualification of various welding processes like MIG, TIG, and ARC welding (Total experience 2 Years), Oil and gas experience in the manufacturing field.
Skills, Training, Special Knowledge, And/or Language Skills
Able to communicate in English and be able to take and follow written and verbal instructions.
Ability to prepare, read, and interpret blueprints, reports, instructions, procedures, and guidelines.
