Job Description

BIM Modeler - Utilities 16N25 is a specialized position focused on harnessing Building Information Modeling (BIM) technology to enhance planning, design, construction, and management of utility infrastructure projects. The role requires expertise in creating and managing digital models that integrate various aspects of utility systems, ensuring accuracy and efficiency across project life cycles. As a BIM Modeler, you will collaborate closely with engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to develop and implement innovative solutions that support utility projects. Your work will involve using advanced software and tools to create detailed 3D models, simulate scenarios, and troubleshoot design and coordination issues to deliver effective, sustainable utility systems.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain accurate, detailed BIM models specifically for utility infrastructure projects.
  • Coordinate with project teams to gather input and requirements for BIM model development.
  • Implement BIM standards and procedures to ensure model consistency and quality across projects.
  • Assist in the integration and interpretation of survey data into BIM models.
  • Identify, report, and resolve issues with model integrity and data quality.
  • Utilize BIM software such as Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks to develop 3D models.
  • Generate accurate diagrams, layouts, and documentation from BIM models to support the project team.
  • Perform quality control checks on models to maintain integrity and comply with project standards.
  • Stay updated with the latest BIM tools, techniques, and methodologies applicable to utility projects.
  • Conduct training and provide support to team members on BIM-related processes and tools.
  • Facilitate collaboration and communication among stakeholders using BIM visualization and modeling.
  • Support virtual design and construction efforts for effective project delivery and coordination.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in BIM modeling within the utilities sector.
  • Proficient in BIM software tools such as Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks.
  • Strong understanding of utility systems and their design processes.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams and stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations relevant to utility projects.
