Job Description

BIM Engineer (Buildings, Bridges & Tunnels)

Dubai, UAE

The Structural BIM Engineer will be responsible for developing advanced 3D structural models, implementing automation workflows, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and delivering projects through Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) in compliance with ISO 19650 standards. 2D drawings are produced as a minor deliverable from the 3D model. The role is focused on BIM engineering, ensuring accuracy, constructability, and efficiency in bridges, tunnels, and related infrastructure projects.

What Youll Be Doing

• Develop and maintain 3D structural models for bridges, tunnels, piers, abutments & deck using Revit.
• Implement automation and parametric workflows (e.g., Dynamo) to enhance modeling efficiency and accuracy.
• Perform BIM coordination with Civil, MEP, and Architectural disciplines, including clash detection using Navisworks or Revit.
• Manage project models, data, and deliverables within Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) or equivalent CDE platforms.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 19650 standards, BIM Execution Plans, and client requirements.
• Extract quantities, schedules, and annotations from models for documentation and reporting.
• Produce 2D drawings (plans, sections, reinforcement details) derived from the 3D model.
• Update models and deliverables based on design revisions, RFIs, and engineering comments.
  
  
  

What Required Skills Youll Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in civil or Structural Engineering.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in structural BIM engineering ( bridges and tunnels).
• Strong expertise in 3D structural modeling for bridges and tunnels.
• Experience with automation in Revit (Dynamo) to streamline modeling and documentation tasks.
• Proficiency in BIM coordination, clash detection, and multidisciplinary collaboration.
• Familiarity with ISO 19650 standards and BIM Execution Plans.
• Knowledge of structural detailing, reinforcement modeling, and constructability considerations.
• Ability to manage large models, families, and standardized Revit templates efficiently.
• Excellent problem-solving, attention to detail, and ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Required knowledge of Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, Civil 3D, Construction Cloud.
  
  
  

What Preferred Skills Youll Bring

• Dynamo, Python, API is a plus
• Certified Autodesk Revit Professional is a plus
