Job Description

The Billing Administrator is a pivotal role in our finance department, responsible for managing and optimizing our billing processes. This professional ensures that all billing operations are executed promptly and accurately, safeguarding the company's revenue stream by minimizing errors and streamlining financial transactions. By working closely with various departments, the Billing Administrator facilitates clear communication for efficient invoice generation and resolution of billing discrepancies. Additionally, the role demands a proactive approach to problem-solving and a keen eye for improving existing practices. This position requires someone who is well-organized, detail-oriented, and capable of handling multiple tasks simultaneously to maintain the smooth operation of the billing department.


Responsibilities

  • Generate and issue accurate invoices to customers in a timely manner.
  • Maintain organized records of billing transactions and customer accounts.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to ensure seamless financial reporting processes.
  • Resolve billing inquiries and discrepancies with effective communication and solutions.
  • Prepare detailed reports on billing activities for management review.
  • Manage and update billing systems, ensuring they function efficiently and correctly.
  • Liaise with various departments to enhance the billing process and customer service.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant billing and invoicing regulations and policies.
  • Monitor accounts receivable and coordinate with customers for timely payments.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance billing operations.
  • Train and support junior billing staff as necessary in their professional development.
  • Assist in financial audits by providing necessary billing data and documentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in billing, finance, or accounting roles for at least two years.
  • Strong knowledge of billing software systems and financial databases.
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to spot numerical errors.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for resolving client issues.
  • Problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to resolving billing issues.
  • High level of organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
