Bike Mechanic

Job Purpose:

The Bike Mechanic is responsible for the professional assembly, servicing, inspection, diagnosis, and repair of bicycles to ensure they are safe, reliable, and ready for customer use.

The role provides hands-on technical expertise within the Adventure HQ workshop, supporting customers with bicycle-related technical requirements and ensuring all repairs and servicing are completed to a high standard and in line with manufacturer specifications.

We are looking for someone who is technically skilled, detail-oriented, passionate about cycling, and takes pride in delivering quality workmanship and excellent customer service.

Roles and responsibilities:

1. Bicycle Repair & Maintenance

• Assemble, diagnose, and repair bicycles accurately and efficiently in accordance with manufacturer specifications and quality standards.

2. Technical Support & Customer Service

• Perform routine servicing, maintenance, and inspections to ensure every bicycle is safe, reliable, and ready for customer use.
• Provide professional and friendly technical advice to customers on bicycle repairs, parts, maintenance, and accessories.

3. Workshop Operations

• Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized workshop; manage repair jobs to ensure timely completion; and maintain accurate service and repair records.

4. Inventory & Parts Management

• Monitor bicycle parts, tools, and consumables; report stock requirements or shortages; and support regular stock counts.

5. Safety & Quality Assurance

• Follow all workshop health and safety procedures, identify and report potential risks, and ensure tools and equipment are properly maintained and used safely.

6. Service Revenue

• Support the achievement of service and repair targets by identifying customer requirements and recommending relevant maintenance services, upgrades, and repair solutions.

Parts & Accessories

• Support add-on sales by providing knowledgeable and appropriate recommendations on bicycle parts, accessories, and related products based on customer needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in bicycle mechanics or related field is an advantage.
• 2–4 years of experience as a bike mechanic or in a similar technical role.
• Strong knowledge of bicycle systems, components, and repair techniques.
• Experience in retail or outdoor sports environment is preferred.
• Flexible to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
