The Bid Manager is the person who leads the review of Sales proposals for products and service opportunities to determine bid feasibility and leads the development, editing and writing of proposals as well as other sales related documents according to offer preparation process of Controls & Digitization.
The Bid Project Manager is responsible for the clarification, integrity and completeness of technical and financial scope of the proposal, with particular emphasis on establishing trading terms.
How You’ll Make An Impact
- You shall be responsible for Service Bid Management Controls & Digitalization.
- Preparation of project proposals for Electrical and Controls’ solutions with deep & special focus on Excitation System applications, Protection Relays and DCS (around power generation including new energy solution) (Specification Analysis, Definition of Works, Cost Evaluation, Effer Text – scope of supply and services).
- Support and align with the regional bid management organization, manage offshore and onshore split offer packages, join customer negotiations with Sales to establish the bid strategy, set up the bid structure and align with BA for tax concepts and business models, and prepare sales proposals for products and service opportunities to determine proposal feasibility.
- You are responsible for validating/endorsing the technical solution and establish and coordinate overview of budget, milestones and to support sales for timely bid submission
- Facilitate sales through coordination across multiple functions including engineering, supply management and other interfaces as required
- Establish communication channels with Execution to set up for lessons learned, create quality bids to ensure reduced non-conformance, facilitate methods to conceptualize solutions and support risk mitigation, and perform cost/risk assessments.
What You Bring
- You have a Bachelor in Engineering with minimum 5 to 8 years of experience in Power plant automation’s engineering / bid management.
- Expertise in Power Generation plant controls and electrical technologies, specialized on Siemens / Siemens Energy Systems: e.g. TELEPERM, Omnivise T3000 or PCS7 or non-Siemens DCS.
- Brushless and Static Excitation System along with SIPROTEC relays’ know-how is a pre-requisite.
- Willingness and capability for conceptual works, efforts to design upgrade solutions from various Controls Systems.
- Knowledge of Control & Digitalization solutions and market offerings in these verticals would be an added advantage, along with professional experience in developing bids for power plant automation, with exposure to R&M bids being beneficial. Project execution in the Controls business or I&C Commissioning experience is highly valued, and there is a desire to work in the gas and power industry. Expertise in working with MS Office (Project, Excel, and PowerPoint) is essential to facilitate project execution.
- Experience in collaboration with international teams, regional hubs, and countries is beneficial, with key factors being teamwork, honesty, and openness, along with a strong drive and customer orientation, fluency in English, and the ability to work in a cross-cultural environment.
