Barista

Focused on preparing and serving a variety of coffee and other beverages in a coffeehouse setting. This role requires proficiency with espresso machines and knowledge of different coffee beans and brewing methods to meet customer preferences.

By interacting directly with customers, a Barista provides recommendations and crafts customized drinks, shaping the guest’s experience. They are central to creating a welcoming and pleasant atmosphere within the establishment.

Through their attention to detail and consistent service, Baristas ensure the quality of the beverages served and contribute to the daily operations of the coffee shop.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Take customer orders, paying close attention to details and specific preferences for beverage preparation.
• Prepare and serve a menu of both hot and cold beverages, in addition to various food items like pastries and sandwiches.
• Manage payment transactions accurately through the point-of-sale system and handle cash and credit card processing.
• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of all service areas, including countertops, machinery, and customer seating spaces.
• Monitor and restock inventory levels for supplies such as coffee beans, milk, syrups, and paper goods.
• Perform routine checks on all brewing equipment and machinery to ensure proper function and report any maintenance issues.
• Adhere to all health and food safety regulations to ensure a safe environment for both staff and customers.
• Educate customers on menu items and coffee blends, providing information on brewing methods and product differences.
