Job Description

A Barista is a key player in creating a welcoming and efficient coffee shop environment. As a Barista, you will be responsible for preparing and serving a variety of coffee drinks, ensuring each cup is made to perfection. This role requires strong customer service skills, knowledge of coffee blends and brewing methods, and the ability to multitask. You will interact directly with customers, taking orders and providing them with exceptional service that enhances their coffee-drinking experience. A passion for coffee and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment are essential. You will also help maintain cleanliness and organization in the coffee shop, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable experience for customers.


Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve coffee drinks consistently following recipe specifications and customer preferences.
  • Engage with customers to provide exceptional service and take accurate orders.
  • Operate coffee brewing equipment, grinders, and espresso machines efficiently and safely.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the coffee station and customer seating areas.
  • Ensure all displays and equipment are cleaned and maintained to a high standard.
  • Handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently using a POS system.
  • Monitor inventory levels and report low stock items to management in a timely manner.
  • Educate customers on coffee products, brewing techniques, and available merchandise.
  • Assist in training new team members on preparation and customer service standards.
  • Prepare and restock condiments and other necessary supplies at the self-service counter.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations concerning food and beverage handling.
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve daily operational success and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a barista or customer service role is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to engage with diverse customers.
  • Knowledge of coffee brewing techniques and an enthusiasm for coffee culture.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks efficiently.
  • Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays, to meet customer demands.
