Job Purpose

This role will lead the development and implementation of social impact initiatives to drive positive change. This strategic role requires a dynamic leader with a passion for social responsibility, a deep understanding of social issues, and the ability to integrate social considerations into the broader corporate strategy

Key Result Areas

  • Strategy:
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive social impact strategy aligned with corporate goals and ESG principles including elements of financial inclusion, affordable housing, community development (financing), SME financing, Charity and Philanthropy etc.
  • Identify and prioritize key social issues relevant to the organizations business and stakeholders.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Cultivate relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including communities, NGOs, and social impact partners.
  • Collaborate with government agencies, industry associations, and advocacy groups to enhance the organizations social impact.
  • Facilitate communication and engagement with relevant stakeholders (internal and external).
  • Foster relationships with regulatory bodies, industry associations, and advocacy groups
  • Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI):
  • Lead initiatives to enhance diversity, equity, and inclusion within the organization.
  • Collaborate with HR to implement programs that promote a diverse and inclusive workplace.
  • Employee Engagement:
  • Develop and implement employee engagement programs that align with social impact goals.
  • Foster a culture of social responsibility and volunteerism within the organization.
  • Impact Measurement and Reporting:
  • Establish and oversee frameworks for measuring the social impact of initiatives including developing the taxonomy, defining target population and thresholds for social projects. Also participate in ongoing evaluation and selection process, allocation reporting and impact reporting linked to the same
  • Prepare regular reports on social performance and communicate results internally and externally.
  • Participate in the preparation and publication of ESG reports, ensuring transparency and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with communication teams to effectively communicate ESG performance to stakeholders
  • Collaboration:
  • Work closely with MCG and PICG on relevant CSR and social initiatives
  • Integrate social considerations into corporate governance and environmental sustainability strategies.
  • Policy Advocacy:
  • Advocate for policies that align with the organizations social impact goals.
  • Represent the organization in relevant forums and contribute to policy discussions.

Performs other related duties and support relevant stakeholders as required

Knowledge, Skills And Experience

To be considered for the role, the successful applicant should have the following:

  • Minimum of 6-8 years of experience in ESG, governance, social impact, corporate social responsibility or related fields.
  • Deep understanding of social issues, community development, and stakeholder engagement and In-depth knowledge of ESG frameworks, standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing social impact
  • Strategic thinking and ability to align ESG goals with overall business objectives.
  • Relevant academic qualifications in sustainability, business, law, or related fields
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to drive initiatives from conception to execution.
  • Advanced degree in social sciences, sustainability, business, or a related field is preferred

Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders. Excellent writing & presentation skills.
