Associate - Specification Writer

Job Description

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or related field
• Minimum 11 years’ experience in specification writing within architecture, including senior-level experience
• Expert knowledge of specification formats (e.g. NBS, Uniclass), materials and construction standards
• Strong understanding of UAE and international building codes as they relate to specifications
• Experience managing specification packages for large or complex projects
• UAE experience preferred
  
  

• Lead the preparation of comprehensive, technically accurate architectural specification packages
• Review and approve specification content prepared by specification coordinators
• Coordinate specification development with architects, engineers and design consultants
• Research and evaluate materials, products and construction methods for specification content
• Ensure specifications comply with applicable codes, standards and client requirements
• Support authority submissions and technical queries relating to specifications
• Mentor and guide specification coordinators within the team
• Maintain and continuously improve specification templates and standards across the business
