Job Description

About our client

Our client is a global investment platform with exposure across both private and public markets. The team operates in a lean, entrepreneurial environment and places a strong emphasis on building internal tools and data infrastructure to support investment decision-making. They are now looking to hire a hands-on programming associate who can help develop and maintain in-house systems and automation solutions.

Our client is seeking a Data & Quant Analytics / Coding Associate to join its investment team and take ownership of building and maintaining internal development tools. This is a highly hands-on programming role, working directly with investment professionals across private and public markets. The successful candidate will design and implement data solutions, automate spreadsheets and workflows, and build databases that connect to multiple data sources. Unlike traditional asset management environments, this team places a strong emphasis on in-house tool development, so the role is ideal for someone who enjoys practical coding and problem-solving. This is a lean, entrepreneurial setup, so the candidate must be comfortable working independently, learning quickly, and taking initiative. The firm is open to training the right person on the finance side, provided they bring strong programming fundamentals and an interest in financial markets.

What the job involves

  • Build and maintain internal tools for investment and data workflows
  • Automate spreadsheets, reports, and repetitive processes
  • Design and manage databases linking multiple data sources
  • Support both private and public market investment teams
  • Work closely with investment professionals to translate requirements into technical solutions
  • Continuously improve and streamline data processes and systems

Who we are looking for

  • Some exposure to financial markets, investment banking, or hedge funds
  • Strong programming skills, with experience in Python, SQL, Java, and R
  • Experience building data tools, automations, or internal systems
  • Ability to work independently in a small, high-impact team
  • Dynamic, curious, and eager to learn
  • Comes from an investment bank, hedge fund, or similar financial environment
  • Has built in-house tools or data infrastructure
  • Technically strong but open to developing deeper financial knowledge
  • Motivated, adaptable, and comfortable working without a large team structure
