Associate Perfumer Analyst for South Asia, the Middle East, and Africa (SAMEA) - Fine Fragrance & Consumer Products

A Perfume Analyst to support our Fine Fragrance and Fragrance Consumer Products Development team for the South Asia, Middle East, and Africa (SAMEA) region, based in our Dubai office - Your future position?

Our Perfume Analysis team provides critical analytical support for our Fine Fragrances and Fragrance Consumer Products Development team to help Givaudan maintain a competitive edge and continue to develop winning and high-quality Fragrances.

We are looking for a Perfume Analyst for the regional Fragrance Technology team. You will provide critical analytical support for our Fine Fragrance and Fragrance Consumer Products Development teams for key markets in South Asia, the Middle East, and Africa (SAMEA). You will also help to run the analytical laboratory and be responsible for GC-MS instrument maintenance, safety procedures, SOP’s, and supplies.

You will be based in our Dubai Media City office and report to the Senior Perfume Analyst. The role offers excellent opportunities for both personal and professional development.

In this exciting role, you will:

  • Independently plan, prioritize, and execute perfume analysis projects to meet business and creative team requirements while ensuring high efficiency and accuracy in data generation, interpretation, and reporting.
  • Adapt and optimize analytical approaches or protocols to meet specific business needs in terms of response time, level of analysis, and result precision.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to provide analytical recommendations supporting project objectives.
  • Conduct daily instrument performance checks, calibration, and routine maintenance to ensure reliability and accuracy.
  • Troubleshoot and coordinate with relevant support teams for repairs and technical issues.
  • Stay alert to potential improvements in analytical methodologies and highlight opportunities to develop or implement new approaches.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized laboratory environment in compliance with EHS guidelines.
  • Promptly report any unsafe conditions or behaviours within the laboratory.
  • Liaise with suppliers to identify and evaluate potential improvements or changes to laboratory equipment and devices.
  • Contribute to onboarding activities and skills transfer by demonstrating laboratory processes and protocols to trainees and newcomers as required.

You?

Your professional profile includes:

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry or a relevant discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in perfume analysis and operation of GC‑MS instrumentation.
  • Strong data interpretation skills and ability to adapt analytical protocols independently.
  • Experience of working in an international environment.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Strong computer literacy and proficiency in analytical software/tools.
  • Sound technical knowledge and practical expertise in analytical techniques such as GC/GC‑MS.
  • Good understanding of analytical laboratory Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Ability to interpret and communicate experimental analytical results clearly and effectively.
  • Demonstrated teamwork, collaboration skills, and ability to interact positively within the functional group.
  • Basic understanding of fragrance science and technology principles.
  • Solid knowledge of Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) guidelines and compliance practices.
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken).
