We are seeking an ambitious UAE National to work as part of the HSBC Global Corporates, CIB team to assist Senior Bankers in developing and growing profitable long-term relationships with Sovereign Wealth Funds, Government Related Entities and Large Corporates in the UAE.
In This Role, The Key Responsibilities Will Include
- Day-to-day coverage of the UAE-based portfolio including but not limited to management of overall relationship with responsibility for assessment of pricing returns, end-to-end development of client strategic forecasted plans across the HSBC product suite and collaborating with product partners on the delivery of HSBC product suite
- Ensure best-in-class coverage of the client portfolio across the value chain, establish a comprehensive understanding of the clients business, strategy and banking needs, and deliver high value-added solutions across all HSBC product lines through collaboration with product partners
- Drive achievements against targets for revenue generation and customer satisfaction, along with responsibility for Risk, Credit, and Compliance requirements
- Combine client relationship management with strong risk assessment and management capabilities ensuring the required credit quality & requisite returns on risk
- Assist in the client strategic planning exercise to link current client performance with anticipated growth across products, understand profitability calculations on internal systems (such as the Omnia Returns Calculator, a tool used to assess linkage between the cost of funding and potential returns for the relationship if this transaction is approved), preparation of Capital Allocation sheet for approvals and submitting applications to Risk team for approval
- Prepare financial models, conduct scenario analysis and analyze the financial position of clients based on the financial statements and ratios
- Prepare / update internal and external presentations on an ad-hoc basis
- Support in audit and reporting requirements as and when required
- Analysis of client exposure across products and from a balance sheet perspective
- Take ownership of subsidiary accounts to handle day-to-day operational requests from clients and gain a foundational understanding of products and systems within the HSBC network
- Demonstrate full understanding of the relationships being managed and assess potential areas for improving returns on the relationship even further
- Use relevant publicly available information to gather data as requested
- Assist Senior Bankers in developing Trusted Advisor relationships and access at key-decision-maker levels across assigned clients
- Identify Capital Markets and / or M&A opportunities on an opportunistic basis, connecting sector / country expertise as appropriate with clients
- Work with Global Relationship Bankers (GRBs) and Senior Coverage Bankers (SCBs) to grow HSBCs client wallet share in collaboration with product partners to ensure product capabilities are in line with client / sector requirements
- Act as primary point of contact for subsidiary clients and internal colleagues on operational aspects and take a lead role in dealing with client service teams and request for / management of client information
- Collaborate with other teams across CIB to assist in achieving the overall goal and specifically the UAE coverage model
- Collaborate with colleagues across the Bank (Syndicate & Leverage Acquisition Finance, Debt Capital Markets, Global Trade Solutions, Global Payments Solutions, Market Service Solutions) relevant to each transaction and for the overall relationship
- Have a general understanding across the different products HSBC offers to clients.
To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:
- Strong knowledge of corporate finance, financial analysis and ratios
- Basic knowledge of financial modelling and scenario analysis
- Adequate understanding of the financial markets
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills
- Basic knowledge of the Bank’s divisions and keenness to learn new HSBC internal systems
- Proven ability in dealing with clients
- Minimum of 3 years’ work experience
- Proficiency in MS Office applications
- Strong academic credentials
- A graduation degree is essential for obtaining a work permit. If your university certificate is from outside the UAE, up-to-date attestations and equivalency are also mandatory (Recognition of Higher Education Qualifications Issued Outside The UAE).”
