Equity Capital Markets combines market insight and intelligence with corporate finance knowledge to develop capital raising solutions for our clients. We originate, structure and execute equity and equity-linked new issues such as initial public offerings (IPOs), secondary placements, rights issues, convertible bonds, exchangeable bonds and certain types of pre-IPO financing.

We are seeking an ambitious individual to join the team as an Associate to support origination and execution of equity markets transactions, including but not limited to initial public offerings and follow-on offerings. There will be frequent interaction with senior team members and ample opportunity for career growth and development.

In This Role, You Will

  • Assume significant levels of responsibility for the various phases of project and transaction execution, new business development and overall growth of the firm
  • Market and financial analysis including market trends, comparable transactions, and trading/technical trends
  • Prepare materials for pitches and live deals
  • Support execution of new issue transactions including the development of sales memos, liaising/presenting to internal committees and working with external transaction partners (i.e. other banks, legal counsel, accountants).
  • Drafting and reviewing transaction documentation.
  • Liaising with other departments of HSBC, including within Capital Markets and Strategic Advisory and Sales & Trading.
  • Oversee work being performed by analysts assigned to projects and transactions.

To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:

  • Strong experience in the Financial Services industry, specifically within Equity Capital Markets
  • The ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining a high standard of work.
  • A high level of attention to detail.
  • The ability to perform effectively in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to oversee and manage junior team members.
  • Willingness to work hard, including extended hours.
  • A graduation degree is essential for obtaining a UAE visa and work permit. If your university certificate is from outside the UAE, up-to-date attestations and equivalency are also mandatory (Recognition of Higher Education Qualifications Issued Outside The UAE).
