Job Summary
LHP’s Lower School (LS) seeks an Associate Director (AD) of Primary Grades to work closely with the Director of LS to provide comprehensive support to the LS community. Focused on Grades PK-2, the AD supports the academic and social-emotional development of students in Grades PK-2. This leader helps cultivate a positive, nurturing, joyful, and engaging learning environment that reflects the school’s mission and values. Responsibilities include supporting teachers in implementing instructional and behavioral management best practices, monitoring student progress, partnering with teachers throughout their evaluation process, collaborating on key programs and initiatives, and fostering strong partnerships with families. The AD also serves as a visible and supportive presence in classrooms and throughout the division, promoting a culture of growth, curiosity, and engagement.
This is a full-time, fully benefitted, 12-month, exempt position. We encourage applicants from underrepresented groups to apply.
Education/Experience
- Minimum of a Master’s Degree or international equivalent required; at least one advanced degree must be in early childhood education, elementary education, educational leadership, or a closely related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience teaching required, preferably in a lower school setting.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in an administrative leadership role required.
- Independent school experience preferred.
