Associate Director Electrical Mechanical Data Centres

Job Description

WSP in the Middle East are currently hiring for an Associate Director – Electrical/Mechanical (Data Centres), who will lead multidisciplinary design, advisory, and delivery of mission‑critical data centre projects across the UAE and KSA. The role will oversee client engagement, project strategy, technical excellence, and team leadership while ensuring all data centre solutions meet global standards for resilience, sustainability, and scalability.

Responsibilities

Technical Expertise

Oversee design and integration of MEP systems for mission‑critical facilities.

Review and approve engineering deliverables, ensuring compliance with client and regulatory requirements.

Support the development of modular, cloud, and hyperscale data centre strategies.

Client & Stakeholder Management

Act as the primary point of contact for key clients across UAE and KSA.

Lead presentations, technical workshops, and design reviews.

Build strong long-term client relationships and support business growth.

Business Development

Support proposal development, bid submissions, and commercial strategy.

Identify market opportunities in digital infrastructure, cloud, colocation, and hyperscale developments.

Work closely with regional leadership to drive the mission-critical services portfolio.

Team Leadership

Mentor and guide multidisciplinary teams across mechanical, electrical, architectural, civil, and relevant disciplines.

Lead resource planning and support capability development within the mission-critical practice.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical/Mechanical) or related field; Master’s preferred.
• 12–18+ years of experience in mission-critical/data centre design, delivery, or advisory.
• Strong understanding of Tier standards, NFPA, ASHRAE, Uptime Institute guidelines.
• Proven experience in GCC markets (UAE and/or KSA).
• Experience working with large consultancies or international engineering firms.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and client‑facing abilities.
