Overview

We’re looking for an Associate Director, Copywriter (Social) to lead bold, culture-shaping creative for a dynamic client with a strong social presence. In this role, you’ll drive concept development and craft compelling, scroll-stopping copy across platforms—partnering closely with art directors, strategists, and community teams to bring integrated campaigns to life. You’ll mentor junior creatives, present work confidently to clients, and ensure every post, caption, script, and campaign idea is strategically grounded and on-brand. A sharp understanding of social trends, platform nuances, and audience engagement is essential. And because this client’s work often celebrates the joy and connection animals bring to our lives, we’d love someone who’s a genuine animal lover—ready to infuse campaigns with authenticity, empathy, and heart.

• Help lead teams in the development and execution of everything from large-scale, multi-channel campaigns to small, one-time projects.
• Understand the value of strategic insights, experiences and storytelling to create and sell your ideas.
• Direct teams in execution with an appreciation and understanding of craft of both art direction and copywriting.
• Partner with agency capabilities including strategy, media, DnA and tech to help inform the work.
• Build relationships internally and externally.
  
  

Qualifications

• Four-year degree and at least six years at a competitive creative agency. Work should include strong brand-building, digital and multimedia experience, and a track record of successful creative work, along with experience working on cross-channel campaigns.
• A portfolio showcasing 360 campaign ideas, with social at the head.
• Experience working on and leading productions.
• Examples of work on CPG brands is a plus.
• Energy, a sense of humor, and an open and curious mind — yes, these things really do matter. So does being straightforward, candid and, above all, respectful — of the work and your peers.
• Awards are a nice bonus, but original breakthrough ideas and real creative problem-solving are even better.
• Familiarity with prompt-based interaction and commonly used generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Google Gemini, DALL·E, Midjourney) is a plus, especially for tasks like ideation, research, or content generation.
• Must be a Cat Person - Either professionally or personally, someone who has insider cat behavior knowledge…l.

Compensation Range: $106,780.00 - $170,937.00 . This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. Temporary roles may be eligible to participate in our freelancer/temporary employee medical plan through a third-party benefits administration system once certain criteria have been met. Temporary roles may also qualify for participation in our 401(k) plan after eligibility criteria have been met. For regular roles, the Company will offer medical coverage, dental, vision, disability, 401k, and paid time off.
