Associate - Building Technology Systems

Job Description

WSP Middle East are seeking an Associate – Building Technology Systems (BTS) to join our growing BTS team within the Property & Buildings business unit. The ideal candidate will support the delivery of smart building solutions, ICT design, ELV systems, and Creative AV technology for a wide range of high-profile projects across the region.

Responsibilities

• ICT & Building Technology Systems
  
  
  

Lead and contribute to the design of ICT/ELV systems, including structured cabling, data networks, Wi‑Fi, security systems (CCTV, ACS), BMS integration, IPTV, and telecommunications.

Develop comprehensive design deliverables such as drawings, schematics, technical specifications, and BOQs.

Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary design teams to ensure full coordination and seamless system integration.

• Creative AV Systems (Audio‑Visual)
  
  
  

Design and review Creative AV systems, covering:

Digital signage

Video walls

Control rooms

Meeting room AV

• Interactive and immersive AV environments
  
  
  

Provide technical leadership on AV layouts, acoustics, equipment selection, signal flow, and overall system performance.

Coordinate with architects, interior designers, and client‑experience teams to deliver innovative, user‑centric AV solutions.

• Smart Building & Technology Integration
  
  
  

Support the development of smart building design frameworks within the ICT/BTS scope.

Integrate IoT, automation, and digital building platforms into coordinated design packages.

Ensure compliance with global standards and interoperability across all technology systems.

• Project Delivery & Coordination
  
  
  

Assist with project planning, reporting, and preparation of client presentations.

Coordinate effectively with contractors, suppliers, and authorities throughout design and construction phases.

Conduct site inspections, review technical submittals, and support testing and commissioning activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Telecommunications, or related field.
• 10-15+ years of experience in Building Technology / ICT / ELV / AV systems design.
• Proven experience delivering Creative AV systems on building or mixed‑use projects.
• Strong understanding of international standards (TIA/EIA, BICSI, IEC, ISO, AVIXA).
• Excellent communication, presentation, and coordination skills.
• Consultancy experience in the Middle East is an advantage.
