IIQAF Group is hiring a detail-oriented and analytical Assistant Underwriter to support our growing insurance team in Dubai. The successful candidate will assist with underwriting new business and policy renewals, evaluate insurance applications, assess risk, verify documentation, prepare underwriting reports, and ensure compliance with company underwriting guidelines and regulatory standards.
This position is ideal for professionals with experience in insurance underwriting, underwriting support, policy administration, risk assessment, insurance operations, claims coordination, commercial insurance, personal insurance, life insurance, health insurance, or general insurance.
Key Responsibilities
Assist underwriters in evaluating insurance applications and policy submissions.
Review insurance documents for completeness, accuracy, and compliance.
Analyze customer information, financial records, and risk exposure.
Perform preliminary risk assessments following underwriting guidelines.
Prepare quotations, policy schedules, endorsements, and renewal documents.
Process new business applications, renewals, cancellations, and policy amendments.
Maintain accurate underwriting files and electronic customer records.
Verify supporting documents including identification, financial information, and loss history.
Coordinate with brokers, insurance agents, clients, and internal departments.
Follow up on outstanding underwriting requirements and pending documentation.
Ensure compliance with UAE insurance regulations and company policies.
Support pricing decisions by collecting underwriting data and risk information.
Assist in preparing underwriting reports, portfolio analysis, and performance metrics.
Monitor policy issuance timelines to ensure excellent customer service.
Communicate policy terms, conditions, exclusions, and coverage details clearly.
Support audit activities and quality assurance reviews.
Identify potential underwriting risks and escalate complex cases to senior underwriters.
Contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance underwriting efficiency.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Insurance, Risk Management, Economics, or a related field.
Previous experience as an Assistant Underwriter, Underwriting Assistant, Insurance Assistant, Insurance Coordinator, Policy Administrator, Underwriting Executive, Insurance Operations Executive, or Risk Analyst is preferred.
Experience in general insurance, health insurance, life insurance, property insurance, motor insurance, or commercial insurance is an advantage.
Knowledge of underwriting principles, insurance policies, risk evaluation, and policy administration.
Familiarity with insurance management systems and CRM software.
Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
High attention to detail and organizational abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced insurance environment.
