Job Description

As an Assistant Store Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of a retail environment. Your primary responsibility will be to support the store manager in overseeing the daily operations of the store, ensuring that both the staff and customers are well-catered for. This role requires strong leadership abilities, excellent customer service skills, and a keen eye for detail. You will assist in managing inventory, improving sales performance, maintaining high standards of merchandising and hygiene, and fostering a positive work environment. This is a dynamic position that requires a proactive individual eager to contribute to the store's success while developing their own supervisory skills for career growth.


Responsibilities

  • Assist the store manager in daily operational and sales activities.
  • Supervise and support store staff, ensuring efficient customer service delivery.
  • Oversee inventory management, including stock ordering and shelf replenishment.
  • Implement store policies and procedures to maintain efficient store operations.
  • Ensure high standards of store merchandising and cleanliness are maintained at all times.
  • Coordinate with corporate departments to streamline store initiatives and campaigns.
  • Conduct training and development sessions to enhance staff competencies and performance.
  • Handle customer inquiries and complaints, delivering prompt and effective resolutions.
  • Monitor sales performance and identify opportunities for sales improvement and growth.
  • Resolve staff issues and conflicts, fostering a positive and supportive work environment.
  • Prepare and submit detailed reports on store activities, sales, and staff performance.
  • Assist in preparing schedules that align with the store’s needs and peak shopping times.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent certification required.
  • At least two years of experience in a retail or supervisory role preferred.
  • Strong leadership capabilities with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively under pressure.
  • Proficient in using retail management and point-of-sale software systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick, informed decisions.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
