Job Description

The Assistant Store Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and profitability of the retail store. In this position, you will support the Store Manager in leading a team to achieve superior customer service and drive sales goals. You will manage store operations, adhere to company policies, and maintain a high standard of store presentation. The ideal candidate will have a knack for problem-solving, the ability to make decisions under pressure, and a talent for identifying and implementing successful marketing strategies within the local market. As a leader, you will inspire and motivate the team to achieve performance objectives and deliver exceptional shopping experiences for customers. You will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and maintaining an inclusive and welcoming store environment.


Responsibilities

  • Support the Store Manager in executing store operations and maintaining high standards.
  • Lead and motivate a team to achieve sales targets and deliver quality service.
  • Oversee merchandising strategies to optimize store presentation and consumer engagement.
  • Assist in recruiting, training, and developing store staff to maintain high performance.
  • Manage financial objectives by preparing and adhering to forecasts and budgets.
  • Handle customer inquiries and resolve complaints in a professional and timely manner.
  • Coordinate store activities and allocate resources effectively for operational efficiency.
  • Conduct regular assessments to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Develop and implement promotion and marketing plans to increase store traffic.
  • Analyze sales data to identify trends and areas for improvement in store performance.
  • Assist in the implementation of company policies and procedures consistently among staff.
  • Maintain an organized and welcoming store environment conducive to customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; a relevant college degree is a plus.
  • Minimum of 2 years of retail management experience or similar field.
  • Proven track record of leading and developing high-performing teams.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills required.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Proficiency in retail management software and data analysis tools preferred.
  • Commitment to providing excellent customer service with attention to detail.
